Confirmed: now what?

Newly Confirmed Asking, Seeking and Knocking to find God's will for them in the world
Praise be to God! You have just been Confirmed in your Catholic Faith, sealed with the Holy Spirit. You probably feel a bit on fire. Yet this moment can also feel a bit like a vacuum. You are not going to be attending confirmation classes any more. You may be leaving the curated experiences of youth soon. What is a good, newly Confirmed to do?

You carry the Spirit in you. Don't wait for the world to come to you, go forth and bring Christ to the world.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you." Matthew 7:7

  1. ASK: pray that the Lord show you how He wants to use you. Ask others how you can help.
  2. SEEK: find out when your parish councils/missions/commissions meet and attend some - you may find an area that you can serve immediately with either a talent or a charism.
  3. KNOCK: if you are passionate about serving in a way that is not well supported in your parish, find the closest tangential mission and work in it to begin to fill the need you perceive.
